Entering a child in a passport
As from June 26th 2012 all travellers need to have their own travel document. This also applies to minors.
An entering or sticker of the child in the parent’s passport can then no longer be used as a valid travel document, even if the passport in question is still valid.
We therefore advise everyone to apply for a new passport or ID-card for a child in stead of an entering in the passport of the parent(s).
A passport can be used for travelling worldwide. An ID-card is valid for trips to the following countries: the EU, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Iceland and Switzerland. Although an ID-card can be used for travelling to Turkey, we advise to use a passport instead, more information.
