Trade and Economics

The main focus of the Trade and Economics department is to promote the Dutch economy in Norway and Iceland. Besides that, we guard the Dutch commercial interests. To summarise briefly, we are involved in trade applications and trade missions, the development of growth sectors and markets and trade related fairs and events.

We work closely together with Agentschap NL in The Hague, the department of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of our Embassy in Copenhagen, the Technical Scientific department in of our Embassy in Stockholm and the National Bureau of Tourism and Conventions in Stockholm.

Culture and Press

The department for Culture and Press has as it's main focus to promote and stimulate Dutch art and culture in Norway and Iceland. Also high on the agenda is the exchange of art and culture between these countries. In order to make this happen, the Embassy has a number of funds available. Would you like to learn more about cultural cooperation activities or about the conditions to apply for funding, please visit Cultural Cooperation Programme (PKP).

Besides this, the Embassy works closely together with EUNIC (EUropean National Institutes for Culture). EUNIC is a partnership of autonomically operating national institutes for culture. Currently EUNIC has members from 25 EU countries. The aim is to include institutes from every single EU country in the future.

Defence

The main focus of the department of Defence is to maintain, strengthen and improve the relation between the Netherlands and the Nordic countries in the sphere of defence. Head of the department is The Netherlands Defence Attaché.

Consular Affairs

The Consular Affairs department is responsible for everything concerning travel documents, nationality legislation, consular assistance, office of notary, registry office and, if necessary, the assistance of Dutch citizens in need. Fisheries

From its post at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation in The Hague, the Fisheries department represents the Dutch interests in the sphere of fisheries and marine biodiversity. The department is responsible for maintaining, strengthen and promoting the alliance and trade between the Netherlands and the Nordic countries.

Agriculture

The department of Agriculture represents the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation in various northern European countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden). The department maintains contacts with authorities in the field of agriculture, forestry, fishery, foodquality, nature and agricultural research. Another task is to stimulate Dutch exports to these countries. The department is partly accommodated at our Embassy in Denmark.
